Separate your role from the other vehicle’s role
Were you the occupant of a car hit by a truck, a pedestrian near a delivery van, or the person driving for work? That distinction matters for both the history and the billing discussion. Tell us whether the vehicle was a tractor-trailer, box truck, pickup or delivery van, and whether there were several impacts. We do not assume the same care needs or insurance arrangements for everyone involved.
A larger collision needs a careful starting point
If you were taken to a hospital, bring the discharge summary, imaging reports and any activity restrictions. If you have not been medically evaluated after a serious collision, seek appropriate medical assessment first. An outpatient chiropractic appointment is not a substitute for ruling out serious trauma. Once urgent concerns have been addressed, we can assess persistent neck, back or other musculoskeletal complaints and determine whether care here fits your needs.
Amazon, UPS, FedEx and local delivery vehicles
The company logo does not tell us who insured the vehicle, who employed the driver or which policy will respond. Keep the vehicle information, incident report, insurer’s contact details and claim number together. Company names are used here to identify the type of accident; our office is not affiliated with or endorsed by those businesses. Food-delivery trips also require the actual vehicle and work circumstances to be clarified.
For people struck by a commercial vehicle
Being hit by a work vehicle does not mean you were working. A family in a private car, a cyclist and a person walking may each have different claim information. Our team can explain the records we need to consider billing and discuss fees, but cannot determine liability or promise that the trucking company will pay. Use the bicycle or pedestrian resource if that describes your situation.
Make the examination about your daily limitations
Tell Dr. Cordima whether you struggle to turn your head, sit through a meal, carry groceries or sleep comfortably. Include previous injuries and symptoms that existed before the crash. A careful record should distinguish your reported baseline from what changed. We explain the examination findings, whether further medical assessment is needed and whether non-surgical care in this office may be appropriate.
